Meet Dr. Cecil Cone: Expert in Pathology Education
Meet Dr. Cecil Cone, an AP/CP board-certified surgical pathologist with over 30 years of teaching experience. Dr. Cone has helped hundreds of students succeed in their exams through his engaging and effective teaching methods. His passion for teaching is contagious and exemplified by the positive emotional response by his students during their sessions. All students are shown empathy, compassion, and patience no matter how much they may struggle. He also has a great sense of humor which has become a trademark of his teaching style for many years and this has created an informal, relaxed setting to further enhance learning. His journey began many years ago when he attended Howard University (Bison4life) for undergrad as a pre-med student. He went on to attend Howard University College of Medicine. Surgery was his first love so he completed a transitional surgery internship at Howard University Hospital and 2 years of general surgery in New Rochelle, NY. He then switched gears and came back to Howard to do his pathology residency followed by a surgical pathology fellowship at UAB. He then began his teaching career at Meharry Medical College where he taught for over 20 years. During this time, he also had the opportunity to teach at Kaplan Medical and become a part of the Pathology video. After teaching at Meharry, he spent almost 10 years teaching at AUC School of Medicine in St. Maarten. Ready to move back to the US to be with his family, all of this had led him to begin this journey as a content creator!
